It was down in Louisiana just about a mile from Texarkana……well close…..Blake was born on Monday December 10th 1962 (yes, he’s that old) in Shreveport Louisiana.
While living in Decatur, Illinois at the age of 4 he had his first experience at being in front of a crowd as a model for J.C. Penny. (yes at one time he was cute…at least his mother thought so) While living in Illinois Blake developed a fondness for the Cubs, and became quite a Bowler, Golfer and Little League Baseball Player. After returning to Louisiana and moving to the capitol city in 1973, Blake got his first
television experience as the student ambassador to LPB from Broadmoor Jr. High.
Blake's football career was cut short by a torn cartilage, but only after his team went 29-1 in three years. Also prior to his injury Blake participated on the Basketball and Track teams. With the end of his sports career Blake turned his attention to speech, debate and politics and business. While attending Broadmoor he began a photography business and branched into one of Baton Rouge’s first video taping companies.
Also while in High School Blake joined a junior chapter of the Baton Rouge Jaycees and worked with the Miss Baton Rouge Pageant and The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair. While working as Director of Entertainment for The BR State Fair he met Brother A.P. Graham and The happy Action Singers from the Denham Springs / Livingston area and joined the group on their Sunday morning gospel music show on WLBI , which is now WSKR, The SCORE 1210.
Since graduating from Broadmoor High, Blake has been involved in entertainment, sports announcing, beauty pageants (on the local, state and national levels) but most of his time has been spent in sales, marketing and promoting.
He is the owner of ANDCO SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT, as well as being the General Manager of The Baton Rouge Wildcats of The IWFL and General Manager of The Cajun Pelicans who will begin play in the ABA in 2007. For the past three seasons Blake has served as “The Voice Of Baton Rouge Raceway”.
Blake is also the proud father of Austin who is 12 years old and quite a sports fan along with being a great baseball player and step-father to Samantha who is currently taking dance classes and who wants to play soccer.
